MOTOR.RSOURCE
Description
The keyword MOTOR.RSOURCE describes the channel which is used to monitor the motor temperature.
There are two possible channels:
0: Direct Wired: the temperature sensor such as KTY is wired from the motor to the drive. The drive measures the motor thermal resistance directly.
1: Using Feedback Link (if supported): the temperature value is transmitted to the drive uisng a digital channel. The drive retrieves the motor temperature information using the encoder interface. If the option is selected, but the feedback does not support the digital channel, the drive reads the temperature as if 0: Direct Wired is selected.
The AKD encoder types support the following digital channels:
- SFD Gen 2
- SFD Gen 3
- Hiperface DSL
- Endat 2.2
These encoder types allow connection to a motor temperature sensor. The drive can now retrieve the motor temperature sensor data using the same communication channel than the position value. The advantage is less cost for wiring.
Behavior
If MOTOR.AUTOSET is turned on and the motor label includes the information motor temperature channel, the drive configures the MOTOR.RSOURCE value accordingly. If there is no valid MOTOR.RSOURCE information available, the drive sets the parameter based on the digital channel support of the connected feedback.
If MOTOR.AUTOSET is turned off, the drive follows the parameter setting, but if the encoder type does not support the digital channel (any other than the one mentioned above), the drive reads the temperature as if 0: Direct Wired is selected.
Restrictions
The motor temperature can only be transmitted through the digital channel using feedback 1 (FB1).
