WorkBench Options

From the WorkBench menu, if you select Tools and then Options, the following window appears:

General Tab

Save to Drive

The Save options are applied as follows:

Button or Dialog Box	Description
Show Save dialog on WorkBench Exit	If this box is checked, then every time you exit WorkBench a dialog will ask you if you wish to save the drive parameters to non-volatile memory. If this box is not checked the dialog will not be shown.
Show Save dialog on Drive Disconnect	If this box is checked, then every time you disconnect from a drive a dialog will ask you if you wish to save the drive's parameters to non-volatile memory. If this box is not checked the dialog will not be shown.
Show Save dialog on Drive Firmware Download	If this box is checked and any parameter is changed, every time you download a firmware to a drive, a dialog will ask you if you wish to save the drive’s parameters to non-volatile memory. If this box is not checked the dialog will not be shown.
Show Warning dialog on Non-Volatile Parameter Save	If this box is checked, a warning will be shown before a non-volatile parameter save occurs. This warning will be shown when a user either 1) selects the Save to Device button in the toolbar or 2) selects Save to Device in the Parameter Load/Save View. This option is unchecked by default.

Compatibility

Button or Dialog Box	Description
Show Warning for Forward Compatibility	If this box is checked, you will receive a warning if the drive you are using is not compatible with your current version of WorkBench. If this box is not checked the dialog will not be shown.
Show Warning for Obsolete Firmware	If this box is checked, you will receive a warning if obsolete firmware is found. If this box is not checked the dialog will not be shown.

Shortcuts

You can define shortcut keys for the views of your choosing. Select the desired view from drop-down menu, then click the boxes for the shortcut you'd like to save. Click OK when you're done. Repeat for each shortcut you'd like to define.

Scope Settings

When the Scope Settings box is checked, the default drive settings will be overwritten with selected Scope setting parameters each time the Scope page is opened. Otherwise, the drive will continue with default drive settings.

Language

WorkBench is available in one or more languages depending on which version you've installed. After making a selection from the Language drop-down menu, click OK, and exit WorkBench. The next time you start WorkBench, it will load with the selected language.

Auto Popup

Button or Dialog Box	Description
Enable Fault auto popup	If this box is checked, you will receive a warning for forward compatibility. If this box is not checked the dialog will not be shown.
Enable Warning auto popup	If this box is checked, every time you disconnect you will receive a warning if obsolete firmware is found. If this box is not checked the dialog will not be shown.
Enable Safety Wizard auto popup	If this box is checked, every time you disconnect you will receive a warning if obsolete firmware is found. If this box is not checked the dialog will not be shown.
Enable Tuning Motion Warning auto popup	If this box is checked, every time you disconnect you will receive a warning if obsolete firmware is found. If this box is not checked the dialog will not be shown.

Discovery Protocol

The discovery interval box allows you to set the interval between successive drive discoveries on Ethernet. Shorter intervals will send discoveries more frequently and can overwhelm the network.

Print

You can choose to print on either letter size or A4 size paper.

Safety Tab

If you select the Safety tab, you will see the following option:

Parameterization

The templates folder defines the folder where tables will be imported or exported tables from in the parameters editor. To change the templates folder, select the button next to the folder path.
