PN.DEVICENAME
Description
PN.DEVICENAME shows the actual Profinet device name. This parameter is read only via Telnet and can be set only via Profinet.
The following reset cases exists for the Profinet device name:
- When resetting the name via DRV.RSTVAR, PN.DEVICENAME and DRV.NAME are set both to “No-Name” (See special handling for Profinet device name).
- When resetting the name over Profinet the PN.DEVICENAME is set to “” (an empty string).
Special handling for Profinet device name:
If PN.DEVICENAME is set to the default value “No-Name” and DRV.NAME is set by the user to another value, then PN.DEVICENAME is set to the same value as DRV.NAME. When PN.DEVICENAME is not “No-Name” and DRV.NAME is changed, PN.DEVICENAME and; therefore, the Profinet device name is not changed to the value of DRV.NAME.
