Plugging Probes

A probe is a virtual measurement point that can be connected to a variable.

Three types of variables can be plugged:

1. Pipe Block variable which is a Pipe Block related variable.
2. IEC"International Electrotechnical Commission" IEC is a not-for-profit, non-governmental international standards organization that prepares and publishes International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies 61131-3 variable which is any other variable.
3. PLCOpen axis values.

• Your application must be connected and running to let you plug a channel to a variable

You can connect a probe to a variable in one of the following ways:

• from the Softscope
• from the Dictionary
• from the Pipe Network
