Configuring EtherCAT
This section provides reference information for the EtherCATEtherCAT is an open, high-performance Ethernet-based fieldbus system. The development goal of EtherCAT was to apply Ethernet to automation applications which require short data update times (also called cycle times) with low communication jitter (for synchronization purposes) and low hardware costs entry in the Project Tree. Specifically this includes the EtherCAT Devices tab, EtherCAT Master Settings, ENI File Tab, ESI Files, and FSoE / PDO Connections Tab tabs. These are accessed by double-clicking on the EtherCAT item in the Project Tree or right-clicking and selecting Properties. Reference information for devices in the project can be found in EtherCAT Devices.
