AKT2G-SM-Lxx Stepper Drive I/O Tab

This tab is used to assign PLCClosed "Programmable Logic Controller" A Programmable Logic Controller, PLC, or Programmable Controller is a digital computer used for automation of industrial processes, such as control of machinery on factory assembly lines. Used to synchronize the flow of inputs from (physical) sensors and events with the flow of outputs to actuators and events variables to device I/O.

Element Description
PLC Variable A PLC variable may be assigned to each channel. Double-click (or right-click and select Map) to open the PLC Variable Selector to choose or create a variable. Alternatively you may use the PLC Variable Creation Wizard to automatically create a list of variables for mapping.
I/O Function

The AKT2G-SM-Lxx stepper slices provide two digital inputs.

  • Normal Input: This selection configures the I/O channel as a normal input.
  • Limit Input: This selection configures the I/O channel as the hardware limit switch. The drive is disabled when a digitial input acting as a source for the hardware limit is triggered.
  • Brake Output: This selection configures the I/O channel as the Brake Output. This option is supported only for the second I/O channel on the terminal.
Invert Input This option inverts the state of the input when set to True. This is set to False by default. This setting is applicable only when the I/O channel is configured as either Normal Input or Limit Input.
