Axis Settings

The Settings view allows you to configure the axis command source and operation modes. This section can be reached by first selecting an Axis under your device, and then selecting Settings in the lower navigation pane.

By default, only settings applicable to your current axis operation mode and command source will appear in the navigation tree. To show all settings available for the device (even if the these settings are not used with the current operation mode and command source), right click on Settings and select Show all Settings.

From the main Settingsview, you can configure the following drive settings:

Command Source

Selects where the command is being provided: 
  1. Service: For tuning and commanding motion via theAKD2G setup screens
  2. FieldbusClosed A Fieldbus is an industrial network system for real-time distributed control (e.g. CAN or Profibus). It is a way of connecting instruments in a plant design: For normal KAS RuntimeClosed In computer science, runtime (or run-time) describes the operation of a computer program, the duration of its execution, from beginning to termination (compare compile time). Within KAS, runtime also refers to the virtual machine that manage the program written in a computer language while it is running operation

Operation Mode

Selects the servo loops that are used in the drive.
  1. Current Loop (used primarily during drive setup)
  2. Velocity and Current Loops (used primarily during drive setup)
  3. Position, Velocity, and Current Loops (Default KAS Runtime mode)
AXIS#.OPMODE
Axis Direction Sets the direction of the motor. The drive must be disengaged to change this.
  1. Standard Direction of Motion
  2. Reversed Direction of Motion
