AKD2G vs. AKD: Multi-Axis Support
Dual-axis AKD2G models (models with D in the Axis Count field: see AKD2G Models Description) support multi-axis configuration and control. An axis consists of a motor, the power electronics hardware needed to energize the motor, and the software algorithms needed to control motion. Common drive hardware resources (ex: analog and digital IO) and software resources (ex: scope, communication channel protocols) are available to and shared between all axes.
All axis-specific parameters are designated with the axis name (ex: AXIS1.OPMODE, AXIS2.MOTOR.TEMP). Units are defined separately for each axis (ex: AXIS1.UNIT.PROTARY), and faults and warnings are reported independently (ex: AXIS2.FAULTS). WorkBench provides a separate set of configuration and status views for each axis. Each axis is listed in the secondary tree and is individually configurable.
