Is the Help System Online or Offline?

The help system is available both online and offline. By default the help tries to provide information from the online system. The online version offers these advantages:

  • You always have the most up-to-date information.
  • The search function associated with the online version is more robust and feature-rich.

  • The KAS-IDE automatically checks for internet availability at launch.

    If you do not have an internet connection or if it is too slow, the built-in version of the help is automatically used.

    The offline version is also used if internet connectivity is lost.

    A preference setting is available if you prefer to only use the offline version (see Help menu).
