Using SSH

The Kollmorgen controllers can be accessed using SSH.

• SSH is used to perform maintenance operations that are not available through the web interface.
• Kollmorgen Application Engineers may need to use SSH to access the controller to help resolve customer issues.

Login

• AKD PDMM and PCMM allows login using the root user.
• PCMM2G only allows access to the admin user.

Because the admin user is in the sudo group, the user can use root privileges to perform maintenance using the sudo command.

• Internally, the controller uses a kas user account.
  • It is recommended to not use this account because files in the kas user directory are critical to the proper functioning of the controller.

• To ensure security, it is critical that the login password be changed from the default value.
