Trace Zoom Feature

The zoom feature is used to magnify or reduce a portion of a trace.

Two zoom modes are available:

Mode

Description

Amplitude zoom

Used to have a better view of a part of a signal.

This zoom operation updates the amplitude and zero offset value.


  • When performing an amplitude zoom, the zero offset is automatically set by the cursor position.

Time zoom

Used to expand/collapse the time-base in order to have a better view of the signal evolution through time.

This zoom operation updates the time-base value.

The zoom operations can be done by either:

  • Modifying the corresponding values by hand.
  • Using the mouse wheel.

Mouse Shortcuts

Action

Result

Scroll up the mouse wheel.

Expands the time-base value.

Scroll down the mouse wheel.

Collapses the time-base value.

Press the Ctrl key while scrolling up.

Makes the amplitude value greater.

Press the Ctrl key while scrolling down.

Makes the amplitude value smaller.
