Export the Oscilloscope Data
This procedure exports the trace data into a CSV file.
- Navigate to the Soft Oscilloscope.
- Start the data collection.
- Wait for the probe data to save to be collected.
- Stop the data collection.
- Click the Export... button.
- Select the location where to save the CSV file.
- Click the Save button.
Channels start recording a few cycles after the previous channel, based on resources.
- To see all channels at the same time, wait until data is being sent from all channels.
- If you start the capture at the first cycle the exported data does not line up.
- The Scope Output Aligned to Show Actual Results table shows aligned data of the channels from starting the program.
- Notice how it takes several cycles for the data to be captured.
- The Actual Output to CSV File table shows how data appears in a CSV file.
- Notice how the time columns do not match to the Scope Output Aligned to Show Actual Results table.
- Waiting for all channels to be recording eliminates this.

The Export operation is possible even when acquisition of samples is in progress.
When this happens, the latest exported data are the data collected when the CSV file is defined.
-
-
The acquisition of samples is limited to 200 sec when the cycle time is set to 1000 µs (respectively 50 s with 500 µs, and 25 s with 250 µs).
CSV File Format
- Each channel takes 2 columns: one for the time and the other for the value.
- This allows exporting channels with different time bases.
- See 5. Time Base area.
- The List separator and the Decimal symbol are hard-coded (they do not bind to the regional settings).
- List separator is a comma (,).
- Decimal symbol is a dot (.).
-
-
If the regional settings are different, you must specify explicitly those two characters in Microsoft Excel to correctly import the CSV file.
