Free Form Ladder Diagram (FFLD) Editor

The FFLD Editor is a graphic tool used to enter and manage ladder diagrams according to the IEC 61131-3 standard.

Advanced Graphic Features

Change Ladder Diagram Size

Drag the column separator to increase or decrease the size of the columns.

Drag the row separator to increase or decrease the size of the rows as well as the texts.

Color-coded Functions

  • Functions and Function Blocks are color-coded as blue.
  • Sub-programs and Kollmorgen UDFBs are black.

Coordinate-based Positions

The coordinates for a selected function are displayed at the bottom-left corner of the editor.

The coordinates are shown in this format:

(absolute coordinates)-(network number).(relative coordinates) in (column, row)


  • Relative coordinates are measured from below the Network label.

Select the Entire Ladder Diagram

Click the border in the upper left corner to select the entire ladder.

Split Window Capability

Allows multiple views of the same ladder program to be displayed simultaneously.

Drag the two splitters located in the vertical and horizontal scroll bars to organize the windows.
